Patricia Willers began teaching at UC Davis Extension in the winter of 2011. She teaches a variety of classes in all subjects and at all levels, and has helped with the development of both the reading and vocabulary and the composition curriculum. Her teaching experience comes from teaching English in Guadalajara, Mexico in 2006 at the Instituto de Comunicación Internacional. There she taught elementary English to children and business English at all levels. In addition, Patricia did English and GED tutoring in St. Paul, Minn. with CLUES (Comunidades Latinas Unidas en Servicio) in 2007. Patricia’s educational background includes a BA in Spanish and Political Science from the University of Minnesota and an MA in Linguistics from Leiden University in The Netherlands. Her academic research focus is on primary language acquisition and the exploration of a language acquisition device. In her free time, Patricia enjoys writing, reading, and traveling. From 2011 to 2013 she was a regular contributor to and copy editor for the Sacramento Press. In addition, she is the author of the novel, "Wandering Canalside," published in 2013.
