Taiwan Fulbright TEFL Program at UC Davis, International Programs

This winter 18 teachers and administrators from across Taiwan came to UC Davis to participate in the inaugural Taiwan Fulbright TEFL Program, part of the custom programming provided by UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education, International.

 

UC Davis Partners with Japanese Universities in Collaborative Online International Education

UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education, International has joined the Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) project between the United States and Japan. As a partner of Sophia University, Ochanomizu University and University of Shizuoka, UC Davis will join a network of 10 American and three Japanese universities that will utilize COIL to enhance access to international learning experiences and deepen intercultural and global competencies of their students.

We are so proud of our institution, for supporting and exposing high quality research, and of our fellow researchers, for their work and representation of our university.

Colombia Teachers Come to UC Davis for Teaching Program

47 secondary school teachers from the District of Bogotá, Colombia came to UC Davis on November 4, to study teaching methodology and take courses designed to enhance their English language skills. Over the duration of their four-week program, they attended classes on campus and took part in field trips to the Language Academy of Sacramento, the State Capital, Old Sacramento and San Francisco.

Program Highlight – Youth

Summer is just around the corner, and we are excited to have high school students joining us from eight different countries – France, Taiwan, Vietnam, S. Korea, China, Turkey, Costa Rica and Columbia. Students will be able to improve their leadership and teamwork skills and receive mentorship from our UC Davis faculty and the community. We want all of our students to take the skills they learn in our summer Youth Programs and incorporate the new knowledge into their dreams back in their home countries.

On April 2nd, 2018, UC Davis Extension – Center for International Education commences its spring quarter, with a noticeably warmer weather in town.

Take time to reflect: what else has renewed other than the school grades? Spring in many cultures symbolize a new beginning – encourage yourself to refresh and learn, like the little tree buds embracing new individual growth. Some IEPP students may join us for another quarter, while others are new to the IEP classes at the International Center.
