UC Davis Campus is among the top 10 Universities of 2018

According to Washington Monthly, a bimonthly nonprofit magazine founded in 1969, UC Davis ranks #10 in the best universities and colleges of 2018. They considered a total of 1,488 colleges and universities including public, private nonprofit, and for-profit colleges. The ranking is based on an institution’s success in the three following criteria:

As spring turns to summer, picnics are a great way to gather with your friends on the campus lawn. If you walk across campus, you will see students enjoying the outdoors and grabbing a bite to eat. One event that UC Davis students participate in regularly is Picnic in the Park which is a weekly event on Wednesdays throughout the month of May! So after you finish practicing your vocabulary cards and studying for your latest test, please join us out on the lawn.

The cell phones in our pockets are more advanced than the technology used in the Apollo 11 mission that took Neil Armstrong to the moon in 1969.  Semiconductors and computer languages are all around us. Improve your English language skills and develop professional skills —such as critical thinking, oral presentation and intercultural communication—necessary for scientists, engineers and technical experts.

The International Potluck is Friday, May 11, from 5 – 7 p.m. and we’d like you to represent your country.

What’s a potluck? A potluck is a party where each guest contributes a food or drink item.

This event is a great opportunity for your classmates to learn about your culture, food and music. We would like to have every country represented at the event, so we hope you are all excited to teach us about your home country.

Intercultural Research Project: What Do You Want To Learn?

Please join us in the MPR this Wednesday afternoon for the Communication and Culture, English for Science and Technology, and English for Global Business Intercultural Research Project Poster Presentations. 

Students will be presenting the topics they have been researching over the past three weeks while studying here in Davis.  This is a wonderful opportunity to meet fellow international students and learn about their thoughts, perceptions and interests regarding communication, culture, technology and business.
